Wow, this is humilating. But for posterity; ------------------------------ andrew rinaldi wrote: > Hi Chip, > >>> But *something* is answering the call > > If you remove the RJ11 cord from the modem does the call still get answered > ? Ummm, actually, yes, yes it does. So, 5 more minutes of sorting through my pbx FXO configuration, and I found out I've been calling the wrong number this whole time. That a modem was answering that wrong number, , , well, was just a coincidence. The number I've been calling isn't even one of mine. So, calling the *right* number (transposed digits on the exchange), all is well. faxgetty behaves correctly, faxes go though, (what an idiot!) Thanks kindly for everyones help. -(I knew it was something basic and simple) --chipper ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
