Re: [hylafax-users] Fax takes long time to send

I've rechecked both PDFs and they don't have anything but white
background. The pdfs generated by our systems are converted to PS with
acroread for linux. This is done because ghostscript have some problems
converting pdfs in some situations.

Then, with our new pdf engine this conversion causes the added noise. Deconstructing the postscript file that's beeing sent to hylafax pointed out that there's a white image in the background, and previously it was a transparent background.

Now, if I take the pdf directly into the fax queue, all comes back to normal.

I'll work on thoses pdf that had difficulties passing trough GS...

So, all in all, it's a problem that we didn't see because nobody complained that there received faxes contained small dots.

Thanks folks for lighten me up !

The "noise" is probably a light grey (or even colour) background in the
original PDF. The darkness get's "dithered" by Ghostscript in the
conversion to monochrome.
