Hi,

Are you sure this modem is using the IC Plus chipset ?  Is this the INF file
that you actually used to install the modem under Windows ?  Can you use
Minicom to issue information commands (ATI0, ATI1, etc) until you reach
ATI11 and then send us the results ?  This will confirm the modem type and
firmware revision.

The reason I'm asking you to verify the modem type is because IC Plus left
the modem market several years ago and therefore I'm surprised that you can
still buy a modem with this chipset.

I have an external RS232 modem, model "Mediacom 103/ME56W" 
(http://www.mediacomeurope.it/prodotto.asp?pid=10) which use an IC Plus 
Semiconductor Chipset (I have seen it in the windows .inf file
