Then it means, without reservation, that either 1) the MMR data produced by Ghostscript was faulty, or 2) something is broken on the receiver (like maybe it's accepting corrupted ECM data frames). However, I highly doubt #2 as the problem would be happening a lot more than with just your faxes.
So now's the point when you start upgrading Ghostscript and trying to reproduce the problem with newer Ghostscripts.
Don't trust filename extensions. That docq/doc904.ps;c0 is actually a TIFF file. Furthermore that docq/doc904.ps.<jobid> file is actually PDF and not Postscript.
