I assume that you sent us a fax log from a session where the receiver claimed the page was truncated?

Yes. Actually the page _was_ truncated as he claimed.. he sent me back the fax, the 2nd page is truncated near the top.

Was it truncated in the image of the fax page? Or was it truncated immediately after the tagline?

If so, then the only think I can think of is that the MMR data was corrupt. And that would represent a bug in Ghostscript or in HylaFAX somewhere.

The .ps files in docq are fine. Could it be of any interest if I send you both sent and received faxes?

We're not looking for problems in the postscript source documents, but rather probably in the ps2fax-produced TIFF files that reside in docq only momentarily... while the fax is in-progress. Just looking at those with a TIFF viewer is probably not guaranteed to help you, either, because your viewer may successfully work-around the decoding problem.

What would be useful would be - if the image data is truncated in the middle of the fax page (and not immediately after the tagline) - a copy of the TIFF file that is being faxed. AND, what would be even more useful would be a copy of the exact data as received by the receiver (not a scan of the page, but rather an electronic copy of every thing received by the receiver in Phase C.
