It's a possibility, but even after all that you do USR modems are still 
going to be problematic because they have firmware problems that make 
them impossible to be 100% reliable.

Over the years I have tried a large number of different fax software 
applications.  Believe me, it just goes downhill after you move away 
from HylaFAX ;-)

Anyway, the USR firmware bugs surface with all applications.  Now, 
whether or not you're bumping into the firmware bugs or not is yet to be 
seen.  I haven't seen your logs.
