Hi everyone! I was asked by my Boss to evaluate Hylafax for my company, before purchasing an 3500,- Euro Appliance. I have to say that nearly everthing worked out of the box, but sending a fax :/. I set up Debian and installed Hylafax 4.4.3. I'm using a single Modem (1456VQE Topic Chipset). For cabeling reasons I'm using a NPort 5610 RS232-Device Server. Everytime I send a Fax I get this: Nov 10 17:28:06.70: [ 2571]: SESSION BEGIN 000000165 492504273 Nov 10 17:28:06.70: [ 2571]: HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.4.3 Nov 10 17:28:06.70: [ 2571]: SEND FAX: JOB 36 DEST 273 COMMID 000000165 DEVICE '/dev/ttyp0' FROM 'faxuser <faxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>' USER faxuser Nov 10 17:28:06.70: [ 2571]: STATE CHANGE: RUNNING -> SENDING Nov 10 17:28:06.70: [ 2571]: <-- [12:AT+FCLASS=1\r] Nov 10 17:28:06.82: [ 2571]: --> [2:OK] Nov 10 17:28:06.82: [ 2571]: MODEM set XON/XOFF/FLUSH: input ignored, output disabled Nov 10 17:28:06.82: [ 2571]: DIAL 273 Nov 10 17:28:06.82: [ 2571]: <-- [8:ATDT273\r] Nov 10 17:28:20.98: [ 2571]: --> [7:CONNECT] Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: --> [20:20 00 00 19 35 C0 A0 DF A5 FD D8 EF C0 B0 A8 BF 01 0F 6E 65] Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: --> [20:73 65 77 74 65 69 4D 20 6F 6B 6B 61 54 04 01 07 07 03 0D 01] Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: --> [20:01 08 0F F0 02 05 02 19 00 06 01 04 07 01 01 09 01 07 94 1F] Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: --> [2:10 03] Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: --> [2:OK] Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: HDLC frame too short (0 bytes) Nov 10 17:28:23.54: [ 2571]: <-- [10:AT+FRS=21\r] Nov 10 17:28:23.56: [ 2571]: --> [2:OK] Nov 10 17:28:23.56: [ 2571]: <-- [9:AT+FTH=3\r] Nov 10 17:28:23.62: [ 2571]: --> [7:CONNECT] Nov 10 17:28:23.62: [ 2571]: <-- HDLC<3:FF C8 D8> Nov 10 17:28:23.62: [ 2571]: <-- data [3] Nov 10 17:28:23.62: [ 2571]: <-- data [2] Nov 10 17:28:23.65: [ 2571]: --> [7:CONNECT] Nov 10 17:28:31.11: [ 2571]: --> [0:] Nov 10 17:28:31.11: [ 2571]: MODEM <Empty line> Nov 10 17:28:31.11: [ 2571]: MODEM TIMEOUT: sending HDLC frame Nov 10 17:28:31.11: [ 2571]: <-- [9:AT+FRS=7\r] Nov 10 17:28:41.42: [ 2571]: --> [10:NO CARRIER] Nov 10 17:28:41.42: [ 2571]: MODEM No carrier Nov 10 17:28:41.42: [ 2571]: Failure to receive silence (synchronization failure). My guess is that I have to change the values of the software-wait- parameters in the default topic modem config: Class1PPMWaitCmd: "<delay\0727>" # \072 == : to avoid awk problem Class1TCFWaitCmd: "<delay\0727>" Class1EOPWaitCmd: "<delay\0729>" Class1SwitchingCmd: "<delay\0727>" # assumption: +FRS not supported Maybe the software wait is too long and that's why the initial bytes of the HDLC frame are missed? The Modem itself is able to talk to any faxmachine available. I testet it (I hate to admit it...) with WindowsXP Faxprinter. Thanks for any idea!
