Hi Lee and everyone,
This is with reference to my earlier mail on the "No response to PPS
received" when faxing to a Ricoh machine using a USR modem.I am sorry to
beat a dead horse again. This error which was initially found to happen
consistently when sending to Ricoh receivers was also found to happen
when sending to Panasonic receivers. We have decided to replace the USR
modem after performing the tests and reading reviews on the buggy USR
firmware.
We need your advice on choosing a reliable (reliable to extent
that it works in the same manner as other normal modems you know off)but
affordable fax modem.I have decided to go for Zoom modem (Model 3049CF -
PC V.92 56K Modem) after reading the "How to guide".But we would like to
reconfirm with you as to whether you or other users faced any issues
with Zoom modem similar to those issues faced with USR modems.

Feb 06 23:08:32.04: [15042]: SEND send PPS (partial page signal)
Feb 06 23:08:32.04: [15042]: SEND send MPS (more pages, same document)
Feb 06 23:08:32.04: [15042]: <-- [9:AT+FRH=3\r]
Feb 06 23:08:32.57: [15042]: --> [10:NO CARRIER]

Well, first of all you should probably give HylaFAX+ 5.2.2 a try as there was a related improvement in handling of NO CARRIER after AT+FRH=3.

However, as far as advice goes... it sounds like you've already decided on the stated Zoom modem, and I can't give you any feedback on it, as I've not used that particular modem.

Thanks,

Lee.
