Hi Lee and everyone,
   This is with reference to my earlier mail on the "No response to PPS
received" when faxing to a Ricoh machine using a USR modem.I am sorry to
beat a dead horse again.This error which was initially found to happen
consistently when sending to Ricoh receivers was also found to happen
when sending to Panasonic receivers.We have decided to replace the USR
modem after performing the tests and reading reviews on the buggy USR
firmware.
    
         We need your advice on choosing a reliable (reliable to extent
that it works in the same manner as other normal modems you know off)but
affordable fax modem.I have decided to go for Zoom modem (Model 3049CF -
PC V.92 56K Modem) after reading the "How to guide".But we would like to
reconfirm with you as to whether you or other users faced any issues
with Zoom modem similar to those issues faced with USR modems.

[ I tried sending a fax with another USR modem with the Hylafax version
5.2.1 (and received the same error)and the error log for that is at the

For all the above tests except test #4 I was able to receive the first
page of the document sent.If it is a multipage document then I dont
receive the remaining pages of the document.And for test #5 the receiver
didnt respond a DCN or a MCF.
