B.t.w. HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.3.4 doesn't do a better job either. Again
the error message is:

COMREC invalid response received to PPS.

I hope that someday this error has been nailed down and resolved,
because I'm reporting it for a long time already. Hereafter you find
