I have an internal Agere 56k WinModem using the martian drivers. When sending a fax to this machine, the fax machine responds with an error of "No Answer". When I tail /etc/hylafax/log/c000000009 I see this:

My kernel sees the modem, and it looks like it tries to connect, then I get the write error.

The write error means that the modem has either crashed entirely or has deadlocked. It's almost always an indication of a modem problem.

Thanks,

Lee.
