[hylafax-users] MODEM WRITE ERROR: errno 5

Hi all,

To start off, I'm running CentOS 5.1 with the latest version of the binary Hylafax located on Hylafax's web site.

I have an internal Agere 56k WinModem using the martian drivers. When sending a fax to this machine, the fax machine responds with an error of "No Answer". When I tail /etc/hylafax/log/c000000009 I see this:

Dec 21 13:07:24.04: [ 3856]: SESSION BEGIN 000000009 14086811528

My kernel sees the modem, and it looks like it tries to connect, then I get the write error. I was googling around and the only things I could find were people saying that I'm SOL. I'm planning on purchasing a US Robotics internal PCI hardware modem, but if possible I'd like to get the Agere working.

Has anyone had luck with getting the Ageres to work properly in CentOS 5.1?

Thanks in advance.

Patrick
