I made an earlier suggestion to use CAPI for receiving faxes. There was a patch to asterisk to allow DID fax receiving to a file.
Once the file is imported you could create a custom faxrecvd process to inject it back into hylafax and continue to send as per normal.
Note this only applies to using CAPI with EICON Diva fax servers.

This could work around some of the "problem" people have been having. I found that little patch / gem hiding in the asteriskbrazil forum and thought I'd share it.
