Re: [hylafax-users] Problem in traing remote modem

I guess that the problem is related to the configuration: I use a line

phone lines.
Your PABX may very well be the matter - or the connection to the PABX.
I've found a parameter s108 in the S-Registry of my Multitech 5634ZPX
that it has to be set to the value = 1 and not to the default value.
Why? It appears that it changes something from alaw to uLaw, but isn't
this an analogue modem? HylaFAX doesn't communicate with the modem in a
way that this should be a factor... I don't think.
But this doesn't fix all problems... I still receive errors related to
time out or lost ack form te remote party.
Does any one as the same configuration (faxmodem <---> pabx <--->
PSTN-E1) and no problems?
Well, with a T1, yes. But if you have a TDM interface in your PABX (for
your modem) and then you have a separate E1 interface (for the PSTN)
those two interfaces need to be using the same timing or things will go
wrong.
