So is there anything I can adjust in Hylafax to compensate - or the problem will persist until I change my hardware?

Probably not. However, all of my tweaks and improvements to the fax protocol are currently found in HylaFAX+ 5.4.2 (http://hylafax.sourceforge.net). Since you're not using that version you could try it and see if there is any difference in behavior. But, as I said, I doubt that you'll see any real difference.

I also have a pair of Multitech MT5634ZPX-PCI-U's. I quit using them when I was fighting wedging issues - only way to reset was to cycle power to the server. If I give them another try, should I run in Class 1 or Class 2 mode with Hylafax+?
