Re: [hylafax-users] Faxes not being received
How nice to receive an email from the great Lee Howard! You feature in nearly every post I have read.
To be frank I already tried installing HylaFAX+ but ran into problems in the configure, make install part of the setup.
Should I reattempt this, where is this place to get help on Hylafax+ please?
Rgs
Brian

When I call in using a fax machine and an outside line the fax does answer BUT seems to fail. From a Canon Fax machine I get RESULT NG as a result. For the past 5 weeks I have searched an searched to no avail. Here is a typical log. Any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend using HylaFAX+ 5.4.2 (http://hylafax.sourceforge.net).

This indicates audio corruption of some kind at the outset of the call.
You'd need to employ the iaxmodem "record" feature to know what the
audio there actually was.
After this point we don't hear anything else from the caller, so either
the call was immediately disconnected (fax detection being used
somewhere in Asterisk?) or the caller's equipment did not like the
recovery procedures (specifically CRP) that were being used with this
version of HylaFAX.
Thanks,
Lee.
