Why do you believe the truth to be any different from what the modem is saying here? Is the receiver actually answering the call? Is it even getting the call?
Not easy to find out since the modem has no speaker. Is there a way to get the sound on Linux?
The most accurate way would be to be in contact with the person at the receiving end... and ask them. I assume you know to whom you are faxing. ?
a) two fax to email services b) a few free fax polling numbers
