Is there any way to retain in resulting file information about
received fax?
Or more elegant way to split incoming fax on pages?
If using Class 1 you can configure in your modem config file to not
permit unlimited length pages. This will get you supporting only
A4 page length on reception:
Class1PageLengthSupport: 0
I don't want to reject such faxes.
I want to split it on A4 pages.
It doesn't *reject* those pages, but it requires the sender to keep
them limited to A4 length.
Is it possible to configure Class2 modem such way?
Yes, but it requires use of the Class2DCCQueryCmd parameter in a way
like this:
Class2DCCQueryCmd: "!0,5,0,0,0,0,0,0"
Although that particular configuration may not be appropriate for your
modem.
Lee, thanks for your answer.
Modem query AT+FDCC=? returns (0,1),(0-5),(0-2),(0-2),0,0,0,(0-7)
So, i think this parameter string must be appropriate for my modem (ACORP-M56EMSF):
Class2DCCQueryCmd: "!(0,1),(0-5),(0-2),0,0,0,0,(0-7)"
i.e. only ln changed to A4.
I did some experimenting and have as result 3 types of behavior of fax machines:
1. Remote fax machine send unlimited page anyway.
2. Remote fax machine send 297mm of inserted page and report transmission error to the user.
3. Remote fax machine send 297mm of inserted page and hangs.
In all cases I had A4 page length negotiated on handshake.
I suppose that type 2 is absolutely correct behavior. But users don't mind that "transmission error" means unsupported page length! They simply repeat transmission again and again.
Regards,
Alexander
