I fully agree, Aidan except that figuring out those requirements was 
were the problem lay.  However, I have found that expert assistance 
through hylafax-users is elusive at best.  Like you, it seems to me that 
there has to be FC9 users monitoring the list that could have offered 
Ramon clear, concise and timely assistance.  Quite frankly some of the 
exchanges that did occur can only be described as amateurish... but then 
most of those involved are, in fact, amateurs.

The whole faxgetty running/not running circus seems perfectly silly in 
retrospect.

I figured that if Ramon were running an OS I was familiar with, I would 
at least be able to help him out a little more.  It's interesting that 
within minutes of my suggesting the change of OS, Ramon had his fax 
system working.
