I know of several attempts to use the i537EP (and I, myself, have one 
and have attempted it a few years ago)... and I don't know of anyone who 
got it working reliably.

I did attempt a discussion with the developers, and it didn't really 
lead me anywhere (i.e. the usual disinterest in fax).
