Hello.

Hi,

I installed ubuntu and tried to install the drivers from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DialupModemHowto/Intel537EP
I changed the kernel as requested by the driver installation error messages: sudo apt-get install linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic
Then I installed the drivers: sudo dpkg -i intel537ep-hardy_2-Philippe.Vouters_i386.deb

And I get the following error:

What can I do now?

looks like cat /proc/devices | awk "\\$2==\"Intel537\" {print \\$1}" returned nothing. Also it seems that the driver has not claimed any device. You should sort this out with the author of the package.
