Rich Text Format is neither plain ASCII or HTML, and so html2ps and a2ps 
won't be of service to you for rtf conversion.

You'll see an rtf2ps package here:

But it suggests the reader to use Ted instead.  I've implemented the Ted 
approach to rtf conversion at one place, but I cannot give details of 
how well it worked, as I did not use it much.  And I can't look up the 
exact Ted command used, either... but I'm sure it wasn't difficult to 
put together from the Ted man page.
