Check any PostScript documents for non-standard fonts and invalid constructs

Can you elevate ServerTracing to 0xFFF in /var/spool/hylafax/etc/config and send us an excerpt from /var/log/messages when a job fails next time?

Ok, I've done that and now have 60 examples of failed conversions. I also have copies of the postscript both from the machine that submitted the job and from the hylafax docq area. As an experiment I took the original postscript document, transferred it in binary mode to the machine that is running our hylafax server, and ran ps2fax by hand on it. No problems at all. Here are what I think are the relevant messages from /var/log/messages:

Sep 3 19:43:10 www FaxQueuer[32299]: JOB 5062 (active dest +XXXXXXXXXXX pri 191 tts 0:00 killtime ??:??:??): CONVERT DOCUMENT: bin/ps2fax -o docq/doc9895.ps;f1 -r 196 -w 1728 -l 280 -m 4294967295 -U -3 docq/doc9895.ps.5062
Sep 3 19:43:10 www FaxQueuer[22499]: JOB 5062 (active dest +XXXXXXXXXXX pri 191 tts 0:00 killtime ??:??:??): PREPARE DONE
Sep 3 19:43:10 www FaxQueuer[22499]: NOTIFY: bin/notify "doneq/q5062" "format_failed" ""
Sep 3 19:43:10 www FaxQueuer[22499]: JOB 5062 (failed dest +XXXXXXXXXXX pri 191 tts 0:00 killtime ??:??:??): DEAD

I've also looked at the postscript code for any errors or weird characters and I find none, though I think my hand-running of ps2fax is a conclusive test.

So, do I continue chasing this or upgrade/downgrade to a different version?
