PDF is handled natively.  Microsoft Word documents will need to have a 
doc-to-postscript converter (such as antiword) installed and then a 
typerules entry added for sendfax or a MIMEConverter added for faxmail 
(antiword MIMEConverter rules for HylaFAX+ have been discussed multiple 
times in the past two weeks on this list).  For JPEG images you would, 
again, need a JPEG-to-postscript converter (such as jpeg2ps) installed 
and then a typerules entry added for sendfax or a MIMEConverter added 
for faxmail.

Sample typerules entries are already there and just need to be enabled 
(and the corresponding "error" line disabled).
