The most likely cause is that some of the numbers are not connected to fax machines; or they are combined fax/telephones, and the person who answered the phone did not press the green button in time. What do you hear when you ring the numbers with an ordinary telephone -- is there really a fax machine on the far end? If you are using an analogue line, then you can attach a high-impedance crystal earphone across the A and B wires (the middle two pins on an RJ11 connector) and listen to what is happening as you try to send a fax. -- AJS (insert figure one before at sign if replying off-list) ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
