To my eyes it's only a very subtle difference, and one could make arguments for either of them being nicer than the other.


Since the TIFF images that we deal with are monochrome and not greyscale or full-color I suspect that the likelihood of antialiasing actually being able to improve image quality would be rather slim... because the image renderer isn't capable of softening an edge without simply removing portions, rather than "blurring" them slightly.
