Hi Frank, >>So at this point I'd like to either see the receiver log here or the >>Microsoft Fax log when it sends to HylaFAX. > >Unfortunately I have not figured out how to get this level of log from >Microsoft Fax. If anyone reading this knows, and can give me the >instructions, I will gladly try them out. You can't really get any low level logging out of Microsoft Fax. You can produce high level TAPI logs using the Phone and Modem Options of the control panel, selecting properties, and then enabling logging for the modem of interest. Here's an example of what you will see; 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\tapisrv.dll, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\unimdm.tsp, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\unimdmat.dll, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\uniplat.dll, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\modem.sys, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\modemui.dll, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mdminst.dll, Version 5.2.3790 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - Modem type: TEST 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - Modem inf path: oem11.inf 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - Modem inf section: Modem0 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - Matching hardware ID: ABCDEF 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - Opening Modem 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - 115200,8,N,1, ctsfl=1, rtsctl=2 02-26-2007 10:25:37.390 - Initializing modem. 02-26-2007 10:25:37.406 - Send: AT<cr> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.406 - Recv: <cr><lf>OK<cr><lf> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.406 - Interpreted response: OK 02-26-2007 10:25:37.421 - Send: AT&FE0&C1&D2V1S0=0\V1<cr> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.562 - Recv: <cr><lf>OK<cr><lf> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.562 - Interpreted response: OK 02-26-2007 10:25:37.578 - Send: ATS7=60S30=0L0M1\N3%C1&K3B0B15N1X4<cr> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.593 - Recv: <cr><lf>OK<cr><lf> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.593 - Interpreted response: OK 02-26-2007 10:25:37.593 - Waiting for a call. 02-26-2007 10:25:37.609 - Send: at+vcid=1<cr> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.609 - Recv: <cr><lf>OK<cr><lf> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.609 - Interpreted response: OK 02-26-2007 10:25:37.625 - Send: ATS0=0<cr> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.625 - Recv: <cr><lf>OK<cr><lf> 02-26-2007 10:25:37.625 - Interpreted response: OK 02-26-2007 10:25:38.406 - TSP(0000): Making Call 02-26-2007 10:25:38.406 - Passthrough On 02-26-2007 10:25:38.406 - TSP Completing Async Operation(0x00010133) Status 0x00000000 02-26-2007 10:25:38.406 - TSP(0000): LINEEVENT: LINECALLSTATE_CONNECTED 02-26-2007 10:26:45.984 - TSP(0000): Dropping Call 02-26-2007 10:26:45.984 - Passthrough Off I should add that when we tested the IP568x chipset a couple of years ago we had a lot of problems with the embedded firmware when used for fax. If your modem doesn't have an external flash chip and/or you can't get a firmware upgrade then you might want to reconsider your decision to use this modem.
