I'm not sure if the following instructions are what you are looking for: 1) Open a new xterm and run the following in it: tail -f /var/adm/messages 2) Restart faxgetty process. 3) Copy and paste the new lines that appear in the xterm that you opened in step (1) > I have restarted the faxgetty, but still I get the following > same error in syslog(var/adm/messages on unix solaris 10), > Feb 16 11:51:47 sfocstsdut HylaFAX[8664]: [ID 758469 daemon.notice] HylaFAX > IN > ET Protocol Server: restarted. > Feb 16 11:53:48 sfocstsdut FaxQueuer[8662]: [ID 583533 daemon.error] MODEM > /de > v/ttyS1 appears to be wedged > Feb 16 11:54:48 sfocstsdut last message repeated 1 time > Feb 16 11:57:32 sfocstsdut FaxQueuer[8662]: [ID 583533 daemon.error] MODEM > /de > v/ttyS1 appears to be wedged I've had 2 occasions where I've got the "modem appears to be wedged" error. The first time, the faxaddmodem script did not run to completion. It hung for some reason and each time I tried to receive a fax, I got that error. It turned out that I was not able to communicate properly with the modem. I used the "cu" program to fix the communication problem between the system and the modem. My system runs FreeBSD. On solaris, I believe, the equivalent "cu" program is called "tip". The second time around, I was using the serial port as a console and I had getty running on it. Since getty came up before faxgetty did, I was getting the "modem appears to be wedged..." error. I disabled getty and the problem disappeared. Hope the above helps. > Please advise how to send the FaxGetty logs that appear in syslog. > > Thanks and Regards > Shrinivas > > >From: Lee Howard <faxguy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > >To: Shrinivas Kanaki <shrikanaki@xxxxxxxxxxx> > >CC: hylafax-users@xxxxxxxxxxx > >Subject: Re: [hylafax-users] Hylafax Setup Error with the modem ... > >Date: Fri, 16 Feb 2007 09:17:06 -0800 > > > >Shrinivas Kanaki wrote: > > > >>But when I execute the sendfax or faxgetty ttyS1, I get the following > >>error message, > >>FaxQueuer[8662]: [ID 583533 daemon.error] MODEM /dev/ttyS1 appears to be > >>wedged > > > > > >In your modem config file make ServerTracing be 0xFFF, restart faxgetty, > >and then send the FaxGetty logs that appear in your syslog > >(/var/log/messages, or something). > > > >Lee. > > > >____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ > > To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi > >On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null > > *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx* > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Refi Now: Rates near 39yr lows! $430,000 Mortgage for $1,399/mo - Calculate > new payment > http://www.lowermybills.com/lre/index.jsp?sourceid=lmb-9632-17727&moid=7581 > > > ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ > To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi > On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null > *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx* ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
