HylaFAX does not utilize any "hylafax.conf" file.  Please just run 
faxsetup and remove any FontPath entries that you have manually made 
anywhere.  Make sure that in /var/spool/hylafax/etc/setup.cache that the 
FONTPATH points to the right place.  Make sure that place has a Fontmap 
file in there (and probably also Fontmap.GS).
