Can you post the output of faxaddmodem, as well as dmesg for both of 
those systems?

Also, one thing that may or may not be relevant: I had an issue getting 
a similar modem recognized, and it was because I had too many adapters 
in between it and the serial port. Try removing any unnecessary 
adapters.
