HylaFAX server only can fax Postscript, PDF, and TIFF documents.  
Everything else must be converted to one of those three formats first by 
the client software.

If you were faxing doc and odt files earlier then it was probably 
because you were printing them to the WHFC fax interface... which 
effectively is a conversion to Postscript.
