I'd be running 22 channels doing outbound fax at night with one taking inbound. During working hours, when the voice traffic is higher, all fax traffic would be limited to 6 channels. I've read that jitter can be a problem with IAXModem but I don't know if that's true or not. Also, I don't know if anyone has run that many fax channels with IAXModem. The system configuration is a Dell 2650 Dual Xeon 2.8 GHz. Currently running 2GB of ram but that's going up if I have any reason to think I'll run into a swapping issue. -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Gerstacker [mailto:sgerstacker@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, May 25, 2006 2:45 PM To: 'John Warren'; 'Lee Howard' Cc: hylafax-users@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [hylafax-users] T1 PRI Question, Can this be done and has anyone ever done it I'm currently using an IAXModem + Asterisk + Hylafax setup and it works flawlessly. We do all of our faxing in and out via the virtual modems on our PRI. I'm looking at replacing it with an Asterisk system. -----Original Message----- From: Lee Howard [mailto:faxguy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, May 25, 2006 10:46 AM To: John Warren Cc: hylafax-users@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [hylafax-users] T1 PRI Question, Can this be done and has anyone ever done it John Warren wrote: >Has anyone ever put a Hylafax system between a ISDN PRI and a PBX? > >Telco T1 PRI<----> T1 PRI (HylaFax) T1 PRI <----> T1 PRI (PBX) > >I've seen something about this when both Astrisk and Hylafax were on the same >computer but nothing on a configuration like this.
