These cards *can* do fax with the right software (i.e. Asterisk and spandsp), but not with HylaFAX, as there are no drivers for these cards that provide tty interfaces supporting any fax Class.


From what I've been told, you can use Asterisk and libunicall to get *one* Class 1 tty interface (one per Asterisk instance, I believe), although I don't think that's yet documented adequately for anyone to figure out independently.

There's also been some talk about people writing scripts to have faxsend dump outbound jobs into the "oubound Asterisk spool" - which would ultimately use spandsp's txfax to send the fax.

After all of that, though, my preference has been to use hardware that provides tty interfaces for each channel.
