Oct 16 08:27:02 air01linux FaxGetty[2261]: <-- [4:ATZ\r] What kind of modem is this? It has broken firmware. According to the TIA/EIA-592 standard, section 8.2.2, the response to +FCLASS=? should be "a string of values, separated by commas, followed by a result code; neither bracketing parentheses nor hyphens are permitted. For example, a DCE that supported data communication and both Service Classes could respond: <CR><LF>0,1,2.0<CF><LF> The earlier standard where the +FCLASS=? query (probably) originated, TIA/EIA-578, has similar language in section 8.2.2. These documents are available from 'Global Engineering Documents' (or were, a few years ago). If you want a free unofficial copy, check out MultiTech's web site for the 'Class2 Fax Developer's Kit'. But back to your problem. You could - get your modem manufacturer to fix your modem's firmware to meet the standard. - modify 'faxgetty' to accept the non-standard response - get a different modem that meets the standard. One really can't expect 'faxgetty' to accept arbitrary responses from modems. ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@hylafax.org.*
