ppp fails

Hi,
I use hylfax 4.0pl1 on linux 2.0.33
it seems that my faxmodem doesn't switch to data mode. people trying to
log in to data still get the high pitch fax tone.

The mgetty parms are:
GettyArgs: "-r -s %s %l"

mgetty is configured as direct line, the login.conf is unchanged, before
I used mgetty only and it worked, so it shouldn't be the login.conf.

My modem is an Elsa 28.8 TQV. I get this erorrs with ppp in verbose
mode:

Maybe somethin with the config.ttyS1 ? I don't know most of the
settings.
I would be very greatful for anyone with the same modem and WORKING data
connects to send me their config file, or anyone able to point me to the
right direction.

Thank you very much

bye
