Hylafax woes

Hi All..

I have an interesting problem.

I need to start Hylafax in such a way that it can grab
a port which already has an active connection on it, and
recieve the fax.

What I'd like to do is detect the fax change tone from 
my daemon, and use system() to fire up hylafax in such
a way that it knows which tty to answer a fax call on.

Is this possible?
