Re: [hylafax-users] Upgrading to 5.3 on Debian

FYI, I did the install with the --force-depends option and during faxsetup got the error:

HylaFAX:/usr/sbin/faxq: error while loading shared libraries: libldap_r.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Wondering if installing it on another platform like CentOS might be better. What do you think?

libldap-2.4-2 qualifies as libldap2.  My old Debian installation has a libldap (which is version 1.x) and libldap2 (which is version 2.x).  If Debian finally has abandoned the 1.x versions then they'll typically rename libldap2 --> libldap.

Thanks,

Lee.

Thanks Lee, I've encountered a dependency error below. However, it appears I have the second package in question. Not sure if it's the same or not. Any suggestions?

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of hylafax:
 hylafax depends on sharutils; however:
 Package sharutils is not installed.
 hylafax depends on *libldap2*; however:
 Package libldap2 is not installed.
*
dpkg --get-selections | grep ldap
libldap-2.4-2                    install*

Remove the hylafax-client package manually.  The
   hylafax_5.3.0-1_i386.deb includes the client programs.
