I don't make hylafax accounts at all.  it's all proxied by Avantfax's
scripts.  Avantfax also isn't that hard to modify, so hook into
whatever auth backend you want instead of it's own.

when you make an email alias in your MTA you can have it pipe the
email to a script, like you might for a mailing list or autoresponder.
 in the script, parse the email body for a command and the job number,
then exec the commands to cancel the job.  all of this is fairly well
documented generically, it's really too trivial to make hylafax
specific.

I'd share my scripts, but I have heavily customized my faxnotify
scripts so it woudln't apply any more than some generic example you'd
find via google.
