[hylafax-users] Dev, dry-run or simulated modes ?

We are trying to build a dev/test environment for an existing system that includes a Hylafax server - note that the purpose is not to dev Hylafax itself but rather our integration middleware with it.

Ideally, this environment would include a Hylafax-like black box that would... well, not fax, for one - just (for instance) drop a TIFF into a directory named for the destination phone number. And be able to report back success or failure (and distinct types of failure) for certain numbers according to a config file or some similar device.

Has anyone addressed this kind of scenario before?
