[hylafax-users] How to control where's the trouble with email

Hi!

whether faxes arrive or not (I still have some problems, I'm trying to work them out) I should receive some email notification...
instead, I don't get ANY email from hylafax server.

I'm pretty sure I misconfigured something, and I'm pretty sure I misconfigured MORE the just one thing, because I played too much with email and users and postfix and exim4 etc etc etc

I would like to "begin from the begin", with hylafax email capabilities.

What do you suggest?
What log to start with?
What configuration file(s) should I control?


I'm sure I mess it up because I understood some things far after having installed (and tried to configure) hylafax.

The goal I would love to reach is letting my hylafax system contact another server - which is my actual mail server, and over which I have full control - for sending mail.
First question: do I have to configure a mail server on hylafax server?
