Re: [hylafax-users] [hylafax-users]V.21 signal reception timeout

Hi Lee,

I'have to thank you for pointing me in the right direction, the cause of my
problem ...at the end was a bios setting in the serial configuration of my
hp ml110.

Checking the serial configuration with dmesg doesn't revelaed anything
suspicious but checking bios default....I found that HP can set the serial
port in 3 ways : BMC - shared - system, and the default is shared.

It seems that so doing the traffic on serial is " unconventional" and mixed
with bmc console data so I set serial to system (USI only) and disabled the
server console mode (what the hell it could be useful turning it on by
default...) and now faxes are received perfectly.

I owe you a solution, and hope that sharing it may help someone else

beware of server bios setting!.

Just in case can you suggest a way of resetting a wedged modem without
resetting the server?.

thanks again,
Alberto
