Almost never will the IQ Express appear as ttyS0 or ttyS1. Look through
your 'dmesg' output to see where the Linux kernel serial driver put the
ports. (E.g., rung 'dmesg | grep ttyS'.)
Normally it will be /dev/ttyS4, /dev/ttyS5, etc.
