Re: [hylafax-users] TIFF-FX support

Adding the tags isn't a big patch. If I produce one, how amenable have
you found the libtiff guys to accepting things?
They are very easy to work with, very willing to accept contributions.
Sometimes they're a bit slow at doing things, but they're not difficult
to work with at all.
In fact, the website seems to list me as one of the current libtiff
developer staff (?!?), and I seem to be receptive to your work. ;-)
So make the patch against 4.0 and hang it on their Bugzilla. Then post
a message to the libtiff mailing list asking it to be included in 4.0
(or 3.9, if you want it there, too). I'll second whatever request you make.
I know you have had at least one non-standard tag added to libtiff -
the FAX DCS one.
Yep, they're very easy-going on tags as long as you register the tag
number with Adobe. And in the FAX DCS case it had been registered for
years (just gone unused) since the Sam Leffler days.
Thanks,
Lee.
