Re: [hylafax-users] Some questions to Hylafax on Debian

My apologies, if this has been explained here before, I didn't find it.

1. During install, I didn't notice any request to install an account
FaxMaster; and it is set up in /etc/aliases neither. Where is the
mistake, or is that done on purpose?

Did you run faxsetup?

2. How to start faxgetty only? The /etc/init.d/hylafax starts faxq
hfaxd and faxgetty. As far as I am concerned, I'd be happy receiving
incoming faxes only. Is there any faxgetty-only rc-script, or would I
have to write it myself? I might put faxgetty into /etc/inittab, but
then it might not be removed in case, or faxgetty started twice.

Normally people start faxgetty from /etc/inittab, but I have had some requests to see it in the /etc/init.d/hylafax script as well. In many cases I've simply started up faxgetty with the -D option in rc.local or whatever the configurable boot-up rc script is.

Thanks,

Lee.
