I don't know enough about the fax protocols to fully interpret the logs and that's one reason why I reported the problem to this mailing list. In any case, HylaFAX is not to blame because if I boot with kernel 2.6.25 I can fax without problems. Most people, I would assume, are using HylaFAX with Linux distributions that have a kernel version below 2.6.26. Eventually, though, the distributions will be updated and the breakage may be experienced by more HylaFAX users -- at least those using USB modems.
