Re: [hylafax-users] Multiple fax numbers with single phone line
Strictly as you say (i.e. really only one number) hylafax can't know to
witch one of the employees the fax belongs. Really exist some criteria
to determine it?
Remember that hylafax can trap and dispatch depending also on the
sender's telephone number, so if an employee has to receive ALL the
faxes coming from a particular number, you can correctly manage that
situation. The important is that the sender's fax machine has it's own
number specified in configurations settings, or the telecom provider has
enabled the Caller Identification service on your telephone line.
Different is the case if you really can have more than one telephone
number and you want only one modem to receive. In this case, of course,
you can trap the destination number and dispatch faxes according to your
policy.
Here a list of variables passed to FaxDispatch script. With these
variables you can customize dispatching of your faxes
CIDNUMBER the Caller ID Number value determined from faxgetty
CIDNAME the Caller ID Name value determined from faxgetty
CALLID1...N the associated Caller ID value (1...N) determined
from faxgetty
DEVICE the device name (i.e. ttyS1) of the receiving modem
FILE the filename (including path) of the tif fax image
FILENAME the filename (excluding path) of the tif fax image
SENDER the TSID string of the fax sender
Hope it helps

Hi
this is maybe a silly question, but is it possible to have multiple
fax destinations using only 1 incoming line?
Here's an example of what I mean.
Company XYZ has 20 employees, each of them receive faxes from clients
ABC.
Client ABC sends faxes to alot of people in XYZ, but XYZ only has one
incoming line.
This number is 01234 567899.
Currently Hylafax would know where the fax came from but doesn't know
which one of the 20 employees of XYZ to mail it to.
Is it possible to have a suffix at the end of the number i.e. 01234
567899*1*, where this suffix (1 here) means it goes to person A.
A different suffix means it goes to a different person.
I've saw articales to do with IAX Modem and Asterisk PBX software but
don't know if this will do what I want.
Maybe it's not possible.
thanks,
Stephen
