Re: [hylafax-users] Problem receiving faxes from a particular fax machine / need workaround or fix
Well I read through the hylafax-differences pages and I figure some of those things applied to what I want, so I installed all the required packages (have no idea how to get jbig installed, the docs are extremely sketchy, compiled and tested fine, then just says install to the appropriate directories, well I am not that technically-savvy to know where those directories *are*, then started reading something about requiring a libtiff patch and just gave up on the jbig stuff anyhow hah). Now I have the latest stable release of HylaFaz installed and compiled and it *appears* to be working, however the thing isn't answering the phone now for some reason. I have copied all the settings from my conf.modem file (from the hylafax install on 7.10, including all the distinctive ring stuff I set up), and its still not working. I checked in minicom, and the modem is responding to rings and dron's and drof's. Nothing is showing up in the logs (except FaxQueuer lines with copyright info
rmation, and HylaFAX Inet protocol server: restarted in the syslog). The /var/spool/hylafax/log/ directory is empty.

Ah joy joy, what I find strange is that it is only with one person's fax thusfar (out of 3 that I have tried). It is consistent (same log results every time).

Haha, I meant *locally* when I said that. You can buy almost everything (betcha there are even 300 baud dcm modems (or better yet ones with couplers)) still kickin around somewhere hahaha.
Take care,
Aaron
