[hylafax-users] Inbound Fax Receive Results in Solid Black Tiff files
Greetings everyone,
I've read a lot of this on the same topic, but was unable to resolve my
issue. I thought I would draw on the wisdom of this mailing list.
I've found the bug report here: http://bugs.hylafax.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726
Basically, the libtiff 3.8.X files were not supported at one time, but
according to the bug report is was fixed back in 2006.
So I have a system using the HylaFax to receive fax on many fax modems
and then uses the FaxDispatch file to send them out to the right people.
Mainly we used the tiff to pdf convert, but I have one user who needs
them in the native tiff format. The only problem is, they all come in
fine (as far as receiving the fax), but when sent out via e-mail, the
attachment has a tiff that is solid black. If I look at the tiff file on
the server, it's the same issue, so I'm certain it's not a file or
e-mail attachment issue.
Now, looking at the home page, the latest release is 4.4.4, but when I
checked mine, it said 5.1.8 which got me a little confused. So I
searched the web and found that 5.1.8 does exist here at
http://hylafax.sourceforge.net/ in which I'm a few release behind. But
even at that page, it refers me back to the main hylafax.org website
which is why I am here now. :-)
So, I think I know what my issue is, the libtiff 3.8 libraries are not
supported by 5.1.8, but I'm not sure if upgrading to the latest version
will resolve this as everything refers back to the hylafax.org website
where it only talks about version 4.4.4, etc.
So any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
