It's not supposed to be that difficult.  However, I don't use SuSE all 
that much to be able to give you a how-to there...

However, on a Fedora system you simply do a minimal installation, then 
'yum install libtiff ghostscript ghostscript-fonts' ... and then 
download the appropriate HylaFAX RPM and install it with 'rpm -Uvh'.  I 
package up Fedora RPMs for many different Fedora releases:

Note, however, that there are SuSE-specific instructions here:
