Re: [hylafax-users] ISO-8859-15 and faxmail

I am sending mails to faxmail using ISO-8859-15 and see that all the special/international characters are getting replaced by blanks in the fax output. ISO-8859-1 works fine though.

Actually, ISO-8859-1 does not work entirely, just ASCII.

faxmail currently has no ability to use a character encoding other than the "standard" one used by Postscript - which is ASCII. So it's going to take someone with some Postscript know-how to extend faxmail to, at least, support a single, specified character encoding throughout the entire Postscript output.

Does anybody know the status of ISO-8859-15 support ?

To the best of my knowledge nobody is working on it.

Additionally I am seeing that mails in ISO-8859-1 which contain .pdf attachments are also losing the international characters from the subject .. anybody else seeing this problem ? Simple mails without attachments in ISO-8859-1 work fine.

It's essentially the same problem as was mentioned above.

Thanks,

Lee.
